White or grey hair is something everyone likes to avoid as far as possible. This has become a common thing even among the younger people in their 20’s and 30’s with premature greying of hair, let alone the middle aged. The two most obvious signs of ageing are the greying of hair and sagging of skin. Hair greying is a natural process and is quite normal if it appears from mid-40s.

It occurs when the hair follicles stop releasing melanin (insoluble pigments that account for the natural black color). In most cases, grey hair also occurs due to lack of a healthy diet leading to lack of essential vitamins and minerals. According to researchers from Bradford University, UK, a buildup of hydrogen peroxide in the hair follicles and scalp causes grey hair. Another research study also shows that deficiency of antioxidant catalase and deposits of hydrogen peroxide in the hair roots are the two main reasons for premature hair greying.

Causes of Grey Hair:

  • Genetics is one of the major reasons for premature greying
