Without sacrificing the fun and joy of the festive season, you can eat smart and keep a watch on the foods you choose to eat with respect to weight gain. Just follow a few tips to keep your calories in check while you indulge in the festive treats.

Diet and Fitness Tips:

  • Eat moderately
  • Use low fat ingredients like low fat dairy products, use healthy oils, cut down on plane sugar as much as you can. Plane sugar has empty calories.
  • Drink water before you indulge in some snacks, so that you put a check on your portions
  • Choose foods that are healthy like nuts and fruits as a substitute for snacks and sweets
  • Avoid aerated sugary drinks, instead opt for natural fruit juices without sugar
  • Try to avoid deep fried foods , at least control the portions
  • Make a note of the calorie intake so that you can burn them off later
  • Whatever you eat or don’t eat, exercise is a must.  Don’t skip the minimum 30-min walk every day particularly during the festival season
  • Try including aerobics if possible as part of your physical activity
