Get more productive and reduce stress with effective time management. Follow the following simple tips to reclaim your life.
 

Did you hear people complain “life is tough, too many things to do in too little time – office, home, family etc.” Do you also subscribe to this statement or feel overwhelmed by the multiple tasks to be performed in a day at work or in your personal life? All it takes is your commitment to managing time more effectively, in order to lead a quality life. To get started, choose some or all of these strategies to get you what you want done each day of your life.
 

Plan each day: As you already know planning your day can help you accomplish and be more in control of things. Write a to-do list, prioritize your tasks, plan it in such a way that you have more time than required to complete the tasks to cater to any last minute or unexpected work that may come up.
 

Start your day early: When you start the day early you can plan your day better. The quiet early morning time when you are peaceful and energetic helps you start the day on a positive note giving you the confidence that you have enough time to complete your tasks.
 

Be assertive: Learn to say no to non-essential tasks. Consider your goals and schedule before committing to take on additional work.
 

Delegate: Take a look at your to-do list and consider what you can pass on to someone else.

 

Give enough attention to job on hand: Doing work right the first time may take more time upfront, but errors usually result in time spent making corrections, taking away more time overall.
 

Fragment bigger tasks: Breaking large tasks into smaller ones can make it easy to handle it rather than push it aside. Working on them a few minutes at a time can eventually complete the task increasing your confidence of accomplishing it.
 

Evaluate the time spent: Journaling everything you do for a couple of days will help you determine how you spent your time. Once you identify the distracters you can work on it to make it more effective, in a way you have time for more important things.
 

Limit distractions: Block out time on your calendar for big projects. During that time, close your door and turn off your phone, pager and email.
 

Work on yourself: Get enough sleep, eat healthy and exercise regularly. A healthy lifestyle can improve your focus and concentration that will improve your efficiency to handle life more effectively.
 

Take a break: Too much stress can derail your attempts at getting organized. When you need a break, take one. Take a vacation to rest and re-energize.
 

You will soon find life more enjoyable and in control of it, rather than be dictated by it.
