    Heart burn could be from stress or spicy foods or coffee, Alcohol, smoking and certain medications like antiinfllamatory , steroids etc.

    Also do not eat 2 hrs before bedtime and laying on left side - helps.

    If doing the above , and symptoms continued you need to take medications like Omeprazole  for 2 weeks.
