Ask A Doctor - I have irregular periods. It's been 5 months since I last had a period. I have unprotected sex without.. - DesiMD Healthcare Services

I have irregular periods. It's been 5 months since I last had a period. I have unprotected sex without any birth control methods (trying to conceive) and as of yesterday I started experiencing light pinkish mucus discharge and today I have brown mucus discharge. The discharge isn't painful, smelly, or itchy. Took a pregnancy test 4 days ago and it came out negative. Can I be pregnant even if I'm not ovulating because of being irregular? - Asked by r x on 03-Jun-2016 02:20:30

Hello, Welcome here. You have irregular periods and now having pink to brown mucosal discharge. You had unprotected sex and want to know whether is there any chance of pregnancy or not? Truly speaking, you are right as there is usually least chances of ovulation as well as pregnancy, where the cycles are grossly irregular. Just meet your OBG consultant to regularise your cycle as this is a prerequisite of ovulation and pregnancy.
