I recently had a c section 3.5 weeks ago, and within the last week I have broke out in a awful rash. It started on my stomach around my stretch marks, and now is all over my thighs, but, hips and chest. It's extremely itchy. I am nursing and not sure what I could use to relieve the itch. Hi,

You have a spreading skin rash with pruritus. You are nursing a 1 m old baby.,  You had a caesarian section. Cause depends on type of rash, time and aggravating factors for itching. The fact that your skin rash is spreading indicates it is aggressive and your suppressed immunity during lactation might be a contributing factor.  If it started at stomach near surgical scar, it could be allergic to some cream you might be using. It might also be due to some drug you are taking, specially antibiotic. It could also be due to some infection you acquired at hospital or at home. It could be scabies or bacterial infection (streptococcal). You need to consult your doctor to determine exact cause.
