    Hi,

Topical Vitamin-D3 & corticosteroids are found to be useful for mild to moderate psoriasis. The brand available in India is Taclonex cream. You can follow the recommendations given in this systematic review:

Psoriasis  is a debilitating disease causing physical and social trauma.

there is no, one specific treatment for psoriasis. It all depends on location, intensity of disease

initial treatment for mild to moderate disease include

    a) petroleum jelly/ thick creams after shower

    b) 1% hydrocortisone creams on fingers and may be face

    c) betamethasone cream on thick skin or skin over knuckles etc

    other modes of treatment include

vitamin D creams like calcipotriol ( not sure if available in India)

or combination of steroids and vit D creams

UV light is also used for treatment. Need to be cautious about skin rumors and need to be done in monitored environment

sun light is useful. May he our suryanamaskarams are done to have these uv light to treat these diseases

sea water ( beach) plus Sunlight is more effective for reasons not really known

if more than 10% skin is involved or if scars are on face and other places that is causing social trauma

people use medications like methotrexate and cyclosporine kind of medications

    For more severe disease

biological agents like infliximab or etanercept etc are being used

    this being said

patience is very important in this disease and need to be seen and monitored by a specialized medical person

will try to get a local physician for your friends care

    hope this helps
