Ask A Doctor - What are the risks of kissing someone with oral herpes? - DesiMD Healthcare Services

My boyfriend has oral herpes. I would like to be able to kiss him with out worrying about recieving oral herpes myself. He is currently on medication for them. He also does not have any mouth sores around his lips. Therefore if we both wear herpe protection chap stick and or protection lip cream during kissing, would I be able to kiss him? I would also wash my mouth after. What are the risks? - Asked by E R on 27-Nov-2014 02:12:27

No .IT is not advisable to have contact with person with oral herpes. Virus is highly concentrated in the saliva an it could infect you despite of the preventive measures. you will have to avoid contact .
