In a recent article in Diabetolgia, published on November 11th 2013 there was a suggestion that acidic foods increase risk of diabetes in women

Examples of acidic food include meat, fish, cheese, soft drinks etc.

Examples of alkaline food include vegetables, fruits, soy, nuts, roots etc.

It doesn't mean that you shouldn't eat acidic foods. It varies upon individual dietary habits.

Some literature suggests that a cola a day increases risk of diabetes by 85%

Take home point is balance is a must and watch what you eat :-)
